Project Aims
Today, modern family building is more complex than ever. Global infertility rates are rising, with 1 in 7 heterosexual couples in the UK alone needing fertility assistance for progressively varied reasons. Meanwhile, increasing numbers of same-sex couples and solo parents are also pursuing IVF, donor conception, and surrogacy as they seek to create their families.
Yet the challenges do not stop at conception. Many individuals and couples face hurdles, such as Hyperemesis Gravidarum, pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes and placental complications. For those who have experienced pregnancy loss and birth trauma, the journey can feel even more daunting, as they navigate their way through trying again. Not to mention the fortitude required to stop trying.
Hard to Conceive was created to highlight the diverse and often unspoken experiences of family building today. We aim to share unique perspectives, offer empathy and grow camaraderie through the generosity of people sharing their story from a position of real lived experience. We spend a lot of time listening to drs, Hard to Conceive allows us to listen to the people who may have already walked your path, or could show you another…
Our hope is that listeners leave feeling less alone, inspired, and empowered by the myriad ways people have faced, navigated, and reimagined family building against the odds.
